Overview
This project was proposed to reimagine the traditional "slot-home" model townhouse development that otherwise plaguing the up and comming, Sloans Lake neighborhood. This property is alley bound on 2 sides, provided for opportunities to load vehicles under garages from both alleys. This was just one way to change the vernacular previously in place
The five new town homes at Hooker Street will invite the outdoors in. With plenty of deck space on all floors, it also hosts and an expansive roof top deck. Each unit is outfitted with ample indoor/outdoor spaces, allowing for the future occupants to relate themselves back to the outdoors
The stair tower is a unique feature on this particular build. A frosted glass stair tower was proposed to address the request of an increase of natural light. This move allows the tower to be entirely lit from daylight, while also allowing for the privacy of each bookend home
With the idea of outdoor living being a high priority, each home will be complete with a roof top living space accessed from a spiral stair at the 3rd floor. The roof tops will include an outdoor kitchen and solar roof to facilitate a new way of healthy, urban homestead living
These townhomes, will be complete with their own tuck under garages, gourmet kitchens, and a multipurpose room on the main floor. Each home is separated by a prevalent and celebrated concrete masonry unit fire wall which will all but cancel neighboring sound typical in a code built townhouse. It will also provide a functional and structural element to support the homes floor platforms.
